Connectivity
|
| Requirements for internet access vary from customer to customer. The type of connection you have will determine the speed of access to the internet.
Additionally, the way your IP (internet protocol) address is assigned will influence other options, such as how you can use your connection for e-mail and other services.
Normally an IP address is assigned dynamically . This means it is allocated to you for the duration of your connection, and then released when you disconnect.
A 'static' or permanent ip address is a requirement for hosting your own website or mail server. |
